Iggy Pop - The Stooges

Big Day Out 2011 - 23rd January at the Gold Coast. Hadn't shot BDO since 2009, and wasn't planning to shoot this one, .. Anyway, filled in for a friend who couldn't make it, and ended up shooting my own little day out, couldn't get there until about 5pm, so just shot a few bands. My only regret is missing Andrew WK, who was apparently a lot of fun.

Iggy, the punk rock Tigger. Doing what an Iggy does best.

Awesome.

Rammstein. Wasn't allowed to shoot from the pit, though many were. Still don't know what happened there, I was on a list, but it was the wrong list, or I wasn't on the right list, or something. *shrug* It all went bang boom and flash and sounded like mid 90's five string bass "metal" with some german ranting over the top. With high fashion leather outfits. Tool fans seemed to dig it.

Bobby Gillespie - Primal Scream. Hadn't seen them for ages, only saw a couple of songs but my friend L assures me they were fab, I had to run off and shoot Pnau.

Hordes of screaming young gals, I can see why. They'll be huge, again. Nick Littlemore totally has the kavorka though the dude on the left may need a little convincing.

Grinderman - Warren Ellis is soooo loud. And awesome. And loud. Only able to shoot one song, but is was loud, (did I mention that?) raucous, loose and dirty, such a relief after the  precision engineering trade display on the main stage.
